1. In the month of January 2008, Young Talent Award was organised in Patna, Bihar on 8th January with the assistance of the Deptt. of Youth, Art & Cultural Affairs Patna, Bihar. Rs.10,000=00 (Rs.Ten thousand) each was awarded to the young and upcoming selected artists who were identified under talent search programme sponsored by the Department of Culture, GOI. 3. In collaboration with Adivasi Lok Kala Academy & Tulasi Sahitya Academy, Bhopal , M.P. Lok-Rang Samaroh was held on 27th & 28th Jan. 2008 in which 20 -folk artists from Gujarat and 15- folk artists from Bihar were sponsored by NCZCC. 4. In order to promote and preserve the traditional values of art, craft and cultural heritage of our country, a 10-day Gandhi Shilp Bazar was organized from 28th Dec. 2007 to 6th Jan. 2008 in Allahabad Haat, NCZCC, Allahabad, U.P. DC (HC) and Textile Ministry, Govt. of India, New Delhi. There was a blend of handicraft items, cultural programmes and traditional cuisine stalls. The cultural programmes were organised regularly in the evening session during Gandhi Shilp Bazar. This event provided regular and strong platform for cultural groups and handicraft artisans in an endeavour to preserve, promote and disseminate Indian art and culture in its entire spectrum. 5. One of the major events of the Zone, the annual interzonal programme “Chalo Man Ganga Yamuna Teer – 2008" was organized on the occasion of Magh Mela from 5th to 12th Feb. 2008 in Magh Mela Cultural Pandal , Magh Mela Ground, Allahabad,U.P . Every evening , the cultural programmes were held in two sessions with folk troupes from different regions. Approximately 4000 spectators witnessed the programme every day . 6. With the assistance of Sangeet Natak Academy, Jodhpur Rajasthan Lokanuranjan programme was organised on 18th & 19th Feb. 2008 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan . The folk artists from Haryana and Punjab were sponsored for Ghoomar and Bhangra folkdances respectively. 7. Triveni Mahotsav was held by Triveni Mahotsav Samiti, District Administration & ADA, Allahabad, UP on 27th Feb. 2008 in Allahabad . Sabri Brothers and Party from Jaipur, Rajasthan were sponsored by NCZCC for qawwali gayan. 9. Shaurya Parva was held on 27th & 28th March 2008 on the Campus of National School of Drama, New Delhi in collaboration with Sahitya Kala Parishad, New Delhi and in Ganganagr, Rajasthan on 31st March to 1st April 2008 . During these programmes, Kalariya Payatu (Keral), Chholia Dance (Uttarakhand) , Gatka Dance (Punjab) , Talwar Dance (Gujarat) and .Aalha folk ballad from U.P were invited to perform. 10. Under the literary activities, in collaboration with Sahitya Kala Parishad , New Delhi, a Seminar was organised on 24th March 2008 to discuss the topic - Inter-relationship of art forms in reference to folk arts. The renowned experts and speakers- Prayag Shukla ,. Devendra Raj Ankur, Shovana Narayan , and Vinod Bhardwaj from Delhi were invited to throw light and put forth their opinions while highlighting the need of promoting and preserving the extinct folk art forms . |
